INSPIRATION

Christopher’s love for the 1940’s American mid century’s furniture and materials such as the American walnut, has influenced the Caodgan collection in style and finish. Christopher is inspired by the Mid-Century Modern(MCM) period, the design movement in interior, product, graphic design, architecture, and urban development from roughly 1945 to 1975.

In particular designers and architects such as Vladimir Kagan, Joaquim Tenreiro and George Nelson have been a major influence on the design, materials and detailing of the Cadogan collection. The names chosen for the pieces are those of the 1940’s & 50’s iconic actresses that evoke timeless glamour and who’s names epitomise style.
